​SAFETY UNIT GOALS (Throughout the year)

Be able to identify safety hazards in a school lab setting
Know how to use Emergency Equipment 
Be able to identify and interpret safety symbols 
Know lab equipment and their functions 
Correctly use lab equipment

Scientific Method Goals:
Know the difference between Qualitative and Quantitative Observations; Difference  between Observation and Inference.
Be able to describe terms like model, theory, hypothesis, law.
Throughout the year: Be able to demonstrate Scientific Method in Experiments and Lab Reports

Homework:
1. Draw map of room A202 indicating the location of safety equipment:
•Fume hood
•Fire blanket
•Fire extinguisher
•Fire pull station
•Safety shower
•Broken glass receptacle
•Spill kit

2. Answer review questions #1-20 at the end of this Equipment package (p14-15)
3. Study for Safety Quiz .  (Know safety symbols, what to do, what not to do, equipment name and function). You must get at least 75% to pass.
